So, I should mention right off the bat I’m no stranger to this game. I’ve known about Mystery (and I’ve been one of his biggest fans) for about 2 years but only started serious sarging about a year ago. I had a lot of sticking points which I just couldn’t resolve on my own so I turned to the best.

For the record, this was my first bootcamp with Venusian Arts, but not my first bootcamp (which I will get to later).

I remember sitting in the conference room chatting with the other students just anticipating Mystery’s arrival. I was so anxious to meet this man I’d been admiring from a far through books, instructional videos, VH1, etc. And he did “not” disappoint. I think my heart actually skipped a beat when he walked in the room and introduced himself. Just the energy he brings with his presence and the way he talks is hypnotizing (but in a good way). The man is so passionate about this game and his method because he truly believes in it! And for good reason… it works.

Seminar
Mystery covered numerous topics from S & R, to the M3 motto, LMR, body language (with demonstrations), story telling, he even answered questions about people from the game and his TV show (where are they now?). And speaking of questions, Mystery answered every single question I threw at him (and I had a lot) in great depth and detail. I even got to walk downtown with him 1 on 1 and “shoot the shit” during a break.

In Field
Our first night out was slow due to the fact that the clubs were mostly dead. I think in total I got in 7 sets the first night (a good night is 10-12). Granted it didn’t stop Mystery from # closing Nikki Benz (the porn star) right in front of me! The guy is so good its not even funny! Regardless, we bounced to a different club(a lot later then we should have) but the venue was so damn loud(and I can be very loud, I’ve had vocal training!) that a 2 set right next to me couldn’t even hear me at my loudest! Luckily they had a patio that was much quieter so I was able to open another set and got to see Mystery game a very lovely bartender. From there, we left the club, walked back to the hotel and had a debrief.

The second night out was the real highlight of the weekend. We went to this sic club with a roof top patio and we really went to work. Mystery picked up a beautiful hired gun and showed me how to do the same. I had a shooter girl following me around all night (she came to see me after she was out of drinks) but I don’t live in Toronto and was busy opening set after set. We really focused on being in state, hitting that preselection switch, merging, isolating (I was able to isolate this beautiful European girl for a half hour) and to really have fun. Because that’s what it’s all about. Feelings are contagious!!! After we left we took a cab back to the hotel, had our final debrief and said our goodbyes.

When it was all said and done, I felt like I had awoken from some crazy, awesome dream. My soul felt renewed! I remember getting off the plane when I got back to Calgary and trying to comprehend the weekend that had just transpired.

The Good: I mentioned earlier, I had taken a bootcamp with another company (I won’t name drop) and while it was very good, there is no trade off for experience and no one is more experienced than Mystery, period! He is without a doubt what I will refer to from now on as “The Standard for Greatness!” He helped me so much in field, out of field, and was such a cool guy to be around, I can’t say enough good things about him.

I would also like to thank the approach coaches Prophet and Showcase for all the help they provided in and out of field. It was a pleasure meeting you both and I really look forward to sarging with you guys again.

And of course, all the great friends I made (you all know who you are!). I wish all you guys the very best! Keep in touch, and get out there and sarge your asses off!!!

The Bad: VA didn’t provide the name of the hotel the seminar was in until the day before the seminar. As I was flying in from Calgary (and told them months in advance I would be) it would have been nice to have been given a week or two’s notice so I could have booked earlier and saved some money on my hotel room. Also, the first night in field we should have left the first club a lot sooner then we did as we had wrecked the room hence there being little amounts of sets. And finally, Mystery being in his home town with his celeb status meant him getting approached a lot! Guys wanting pictures with him, asking him questions did get really annoying, really fast but it comes with the territory so I dealt with it. Not the end of the world.

If you’re possibly considering a bootcamp but aren’t sure about spending the money, I will tell you right now it is worth every penny. Even if you’re not as gung ho crazy as myself or some of the other guys in the game, maybe all you want is to find a beautiful girl to settle down with, you owe it to yourself to do so. You’ll thank yourself in the long run. And trust me, you have no idea what you are truly capable of until you actually do it. For The Venusian Arts, impossible is nothing.

I took the Dallas bootcamp as a first step toward making some major changes in my lifestyle, and all in all, I believe this was well worth my time and money. The small group size (only 2 other students) made it easy for the instructors to tailor the bootcamp to our individual needs. Kevin Feng and Johnny Malibu did a great job of breaking down the ABCs approach into bits and pieces that were easy to digest. Kevin, the lead instructor, was easy-going, up-front without being condescending, and committed to making sure we all got our money’s worth. Johnny Malibu was the intern for the bootcamp, but I think of him as a co-instructor. At first, I was a little skeptical that a white guy with a laid-back party animal vibe could relate to me, the stereotypical type A asian engineer, but his insights quickly convinced me that he understood where I was coming from and had the knowledge and experience to dramatically improve my pickup game and my image. Overall, I was impressed by how easily both Kevin and John zeroed in on my faults and were able to offer some straightforward ways of addressing them.

I found that the most useful aspects of the bootcamp were getting practice with doing approaches, including direct openers (props to John for pushing me) and getting specific feedback on the image that I project to others, including fashion and hair. While I still have much to improve on in my pickup game, I now recognize the importance of having high energy and confidence when opening sets. As far as room for improvement for the bootcamp, most of our time spent in the field was at one venue, and I would have liked a little more variety. I also would have preferred that some of the day 3 lecture material (like AMOGGING) be covered on day 2 so that we could have used this on our second night out. I think more time spent with bantering/smalltalk and body positioning during approaches would improve the course.

While I don’t expect the lessons learned from the bootcamp to be a panacea for all my problems with women and dating, taking the bootcamp opened my eyes to what is possible and equipped me with some tools that I could start to use on my own right away. I could easily envision many of the skills I gained from the bootcamp spilling over into other areas of my life in a positive way over time. Overall, I highly recommend the bootcamp for men at any level in their pickup skills, but especially for those that need that extra push when it comes to approaching women.

After hooking up with Speer this weekend in LA I got to see why he is considered one of the top PUAs in the world even from Mystery himself and must say he is at the top of his game. He was excellent at promoting the mindset of your game when it comes to pickup, because it becomes more than just memorizing lines (those eventually get thrown out) and your new identity becomes a way of life. It was interesting to see how women were attracted to Speer so instantly it became a major confidence boost to see what was possible. The thing that I like to point out is that Speer has soo much tight game it appears as though he is not gaming–he is doing it the natural way. I remembered opening sets and having them not hook after A2 and Speer came back and told me neg, IOD, DHV—I tried another set and it hooked like magic. At the end of the night, Speer’s feedback provided important details to improve my inner game and get through my sticky points when talking with women.

Hey Kingy,

I just wanted to say thanks for the great bootcamp. I learnt
loads and was put well out of my comfort zone. The trainers were an
inspiration and watching them at work and hearing about their
different journeys was awesome.
I was especially interested in the inner game work as I feel this is
where I need to focus my energies. I picked up the book you
recommended and have started to work through the excercises. Bringing
the methods you taught into my everyday life is helping me be more
social and happy. The other night I was out and just asked for
directions then high fived everyone I saw it was a lot of fun!
Some of the guys from the course are planning to meet up regularly to
practice and trade stories. This will help us stick with it and keep
practicing.

Thanks again will probably contact you later on in the year about some
one on ones after I have worked on using cbt to work on my beliefs.

Take care
